This Pendant is based on one of Ireland’s Emblems, the Harp. Clàrsach or Cláirseach (depending on Scottish Gaelic or Irish spellings), is the generic Gaelic word for ‘a harp’, as derived from Middle Irish. In English, the word is used to refer specifically to a variety of small Irish and Scottish harps.
The Ogham pendant is modeled on an Ogham stone, a archaeological stone into the edge of which writing was carved - Ogham is an Early Medieval alphabet used primarily to write the Old Irish language, and the Brythonic language. Ogham is sometimes called the "Celtic Tree Alphabet" Ogham Writing reads from bottom to top.
